At Fish River Roasters, we’ve always believed in coffee as a connector, bringing people together, fuelling great moments, and being part of something bigger. So when we were given the chance to support a team taking part in the 2025 Mystery Box Rally, it was an easy “yes.”
What is the Mystery Box Rally?
Run by the same passionate crew behind the Sh*tbox Rally, the Mystery Box Rally is an adventurous, 5-day charity event raising vital funds for Cancer Council. It’s a unique journey with a twist: each day’s route is a complete mystery until the morning of. Teams drive their own 25+ year old cars across the Aussie outback, not for speed, but for impact.
This year’s rally begins and ends in Broken Hill, and over five days, participants will travel 2,500km, camping under the stars, forming lifelong friendships, and sharing a common goal: raising funds and awareness to support cancer research.
Meet Our Team: Dee & Tony “One More Time” in a 1958 Standard Vanguard
We’re thrilled to be supporting a team driving a rugged (and very charming) 1958 Standard Vanguard Deluxe. This vintage beauty has more rust than horsepower, but what it lacks in polish it makes up for in personality.
The team, Dee and Tony, are taking on the rally “One More Time”, a tribute to resilience and cause-driven action. Their story is one of many: like so many Australians, they’ve seen the impact of cancer firsthand and are stepping up to make a difference.
With help from sponsors like Fish River Roasters, they’ve already surpassed their fundraising goal, contributing to the millions raised by the Box Rallies for cancer research across Australia.
Why We’re Behind It
Cancer touches all of us. Families. Friends. Colleagues. It’s a cause that sits close to our hearts, and the hearts of many in our café community. Supporting this rally is one way we can help fund research, raise awareness, and show up for those in the fight.
We’re proud to stand alongside the “One More Time” team, keeping them fuelled in spirit (and hopefully a few good brews along the way).
